Richard Frank

Richard Frank was born on October 15, 1913 at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. He lived with Joseph Nicholas Frank on January 13, 1920 at 214 Olive Street, Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. 

He was enumerated with Joseph Nicholas Frank on the 1920 U.S. Census at Jefferson City, Missouri, he was listed as a six-year-old white male born in Missouri and was attending school. 

In his youth he was a a Jefferson City News-Tribune carrier, attended the Immaculate Conception Grade School, Jefferson City Senior High School and Junior College. Prior to entering the Army he was employed by L. H. Rost.

He enlisted in the Army in February, 1941 and received his training at Camp Robinson, Arkansas. He was then assigned to the Aleutians with the 35th Division where he served for 2 1/2 years in the 138th infantry. In January 1944 he was transferred to Germany with the 66th infantry division.

He died on July 14, 1945 at Augsburg, Germany, at age 31 while attending a U.S.O. show near Vienna, he was injured while walking between two parked vehicles. A third vehicle's brakes failed to function, causing it to strike the parked vehicles. Richard was rushed to the U.S. Army hospital at Augsburg however seven days later the injuries proved fatal and he died at six o'clock in the morning of the 14th.
