Nicholas Frank

Nicholas Frank was born in 1842 at Elsas, France. 

He was enumerated with Joseph Frank on the 1860 U.S. Census at Liberty Township, Cole County, Missouri, he was listed as a 62-year-old white male born in Germany and employed as a laborer. Age should have been 18. 

Civil War Service: Volunteered at Jefferson City, Missouri, March 28 1862 at the age of 20.

He served as a private in Captain Man's Company, Mounted. Rifles, Missouri State Militia, 5th Missouri Cavalry (second organization) Missouri from March to April 1862. (Company B, Mounted Rifles, Missouri State Militia.)

He served from May to June 1862 as a private in Company E, 13 Regiment Missouri State Militia Cavalry. The valuation of his horse was $90. On his discharge he was due pay for use of his personal horse and equipment from May 15, 1862.

He served from October 1862 through February 1863 as a private in Company E, 5 Regiment Missouri State Militia Cavalry.

On the muster-out roll on April 6, 1865, Rolla, Missouri, he had served as a bugler.

He began military service on March 28, 1862 at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri, as an enlisted person with the rank of private. He was discharged from the military service cavalry on April 6, 1865 at Rolla, Phelps County, Missouri.

Nicholas Frank married Elizabeth K. Raithel, daughter of John A. Raithel and Margaret (--?--), circa 1870 at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. 

He was enumerated with Nicholas Raithel on the 1870 U.S. Census at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri, he was listed as a 26-year-old white male born in France as were both of his parents. He was employed as a bar keeper and owned personal property valued at $300.00. Nicholas Frank is a head of household on the 1880 U. S. Census at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri, as "Nick Frank" he was listed as a 38-year-old married white male born in Elsas, living at 702 West Main Street and employed keeping a saloon. Both his parents were born in Elsas. Enumerated with Nicholas were Elizabeth K. Raithel, Joseph Nicholas Frank, George Charles Frank, Leona Margaretha Frank, Julius E. Frank, and Wilhelminia K. Frank. 

He lived in 1880 at 702 West Main Street, Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. 

He was buried before 1890 at 1000-1922 East McCarty Street, Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri, in lot 133 in Woodland Cemetery. He died before 1890 at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri.
