Gotlieb Andreas Schamberger

Gotlieb Andreas Schamberger was born circa 1793 in the Kingdom of Bavaria. He married Theresa Voglin circa 1817.

Gotlieb and Theresa lived in Erlangen, a small city located in what was then the Bavarian Empire, situated along the Ludwig Canal. He was a landowner, professor and sculptor. The Deutschmann family in the mid-1950's had a wood crucifix that he carved. He was a apparently a man of some means and a Roman Catholic. Gotlieb and Theresa had two children: a daughter and a son, Andreas, who emigrated to the United States. Gottlieb and his wife remained in the Kingdom of Bavaria with their daughter.

Many generations of Schambergers lived in the Erlangen and Bamberg area, going back to the 1300s. He died before 1860 at Bavaria, Kingdom of Bavaria.
