Augusta Mertens was born on December 30, 1912 at Wardsville, Cole County, Missouri.

She married Charles Joseph Frank, son of Joseph Nicholas Frank and Mabel Elizabeth Swillum, on April 6, 1937 at Wardsville, Missouri. She was a sponsor for the baptism of Elizabeth Ann Williams on July 10, 1960 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. 

She died on May 18, 1981 at Jefferson City, Missouri, at age 68. Her funeral service was held on May 20, 1981 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jefferson City. She was buried on May 20, 1981 at Resurrection Cemetery, Jefferson City, Missouri.
